WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – There will only be one early voting site for this year’s municipal elections, according to the New Hanover County (NHC) Board of Elections.
During a meeting on Tuesday, July 22, the board unanimously voted to open the Northeast Public Library as the only polling location for early voting in the county.
According to a NHC representative, the board determines the number of early voting sites that will open for each election.
“Given that there was no other plan in place for the 2025 Municipal Elections, there were no sites to be eliminated,” the representative stated.
NHC officials stated that, although there are fewer sites than in other recent municipal elections, one site was a common plan adopted by previous boards.
Early voting will begin Thursday, October 16, and end Saturday, November 1.
