DOVER, DE – The Special Election for the Office of State Representative for Representative District 20 to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Stell Parker Selby is set for Tuesday, August 5, 2025, and Early Voting for the Special Election starts today, July 24, 2025.
In order to vote in the Special Election, you must be a Delaware registered voter, 18 years of age or older by the date of the Special Election and reside in State Representative District 20. Eligible voters may vote regardless of political party affiliation. Check whether you are eligible to vote in the State Representative District 20 Special Election at https://ivote.de.gov or by calling the Department of Elections, Sussex County Office at 302-856-5367.
Three voting options are available to Delaware voters, and they include voting by absentee ballot (if eligible, for a reason listed in Delaware Code), voting early at an early voting site during the early voting period, or voting on election day at assigned polling places.
Eligible, Delaware registered voters living in State Representative District 20 may vote in person at either of the two Special Election early voting sites, Lewes Elementary School or Mariner Middle School, during the Special Election Early Voting period. Early Voting for the Special Election begins today, July 24th and continues through Sunday, August 3rd. Please note that there will be no early voting available on Sunday, July 27th.

*Please note that due to the lack of air conditioning in the summer heat, the polling place for 20-10 has changed for the RD20 Special Election ONLY from Sports at the Beach to Mariner Middle School. Voters in 20-10 have been mailed letters informing them of the polling place change.
Special Election voters who are unable to vote at their assigned polling place on Special Election Day due to a reason permitted by state law may vote by absentee ballot. Voters may request an absentee ballot online at https://ivote.de.gov.
